Volunteers needed to support cancer patients

University College Hospital (UCH) and Macmillan Cancer Support are recruiting dozens of volunteers for a state-of-the-art £100 million cancer centre, due to open in Huntley Street, WC1, in the spring.

Volunteers are being called upon to provide support and advice services to cancer patients, their families and carers at the new centre, which will be the first of its kind in the NHS. It will use leading diagnostic and treatment techniques to improve survival rates and provide will also emotional, practical and financial support. As many as 30 volunteers a day are needed.
