Celebrating physical activity in London

Good physical health promotes overall wellbeing and despite the majority of time often being pressured, there are free things you can do yourself whether you have just a few minutes here and there or longer periods available.

With summer hotting up and the Capital hosting the World Para Athletics and World Athletics Championships, it’s a great time to take part in the #LDNMovesMe campaign to get Londoners celebrating physical activity from a weekend walk to a spot of post-work tennis in the park.

To aid the target of getting 1,000,000 Londoners more physically active by 2020, #LDNMovesMe has been designed by London Sport to inspire people to show the world what being active in London means to them, and to celebrate the diversity of the ways that Londoners choose to take part in physical activity and sport.

Peter Fitzboydon, Chief Executive of London Sport, said: “An active London is a thriving one and, through #LDNMovesMe, we aim to build a community of Londoners who are healthier, happier, and more inspired to participate. This campaign is all about celebrating that activity through social conversations - and, of course, shining a light on the importance of sport to our great city.”

Through the campaign, ldnmovesme.com will be sharing, showcasing and shining a light on what being active means to Londoners of every age, background and ability throughout summer 2017. Visit www.ldnmovesme.com to find out more.
