Birth Centre

The Lilac Birth Centre has five birthing rooms with ensuites,two birthing pools, and three postnatal day beds.

You can self-refer by attending an antenatal clinic and completing a form.

Delivery Suite

The Labour Ward has 10 birthing rooms and one birthing pool

Facilities include: triage area; maternal high dependency unit; newborn resuscitation room; state of the art obstetric theatres; bereavement rooms.

The antenatal ward has 11 beds. Phone 020 8539 5522 (extension 5045).

The postnatal ward has 28 beds. Partners are welcome to stay overnight.

 

Home birth

Home birth services are available for women who live in the Whipps Cross hospital area. Each community midwife team provides cover for the home birth service at Whipps Cross.

 

There is limited car parking near the maternity unit via Hospital Road.
